The idle game that looks
like a day job.
v4.0
Compound is an incremental game disguised as a productivity OS. Run a one-person AI agency, install the tools, watch the revenue compound — then Exit and do it all bigger. At a 1.5-second glance over your shoulder, it's indistinguishable from real work. That's the whole idea.

Looks like work.
Plays like an empire.
Every idle game eventually gets you caught. Compound doesn't. Hit Esc — or the backtick your boss uses to close a popup — and the dashboard flips to "Quarterly Pipeline — Internal." Neutral CRM, plausible numbers, even the browser tab renames itself. Hit it again and your empire's right where you left it.
The disguise isn't a skin. It's the pitch.

Ship. Automate. Upgrade. Exit.
Repeat, bigger.
Ship work by hand for your first cash. The tutorial. You won't do it for long.
Install AIs from The Stack. Each one ships work in its lane and earns while you're gone.
Stack permanent multipliers. Every milestone count — 10, 25, 50 owned — doubles that tool's output, automatically.
Cash out lifetime revenue into Equity — a permanent multiplier that compounds across every company you start next.
Close the tab and it keeps earning. "While you were away" is always a gift, never a rescue. No energy. No streaks. No guilt.
13 tools. All fictional.
All suspiciously familiar.
Recognizable but legally-safe — GTA-style parodies with enough personality to earn their slots in your Stack.
13 tools. 5 lanes to compound across.
An idle game that takes
its cover story seriously.
Fake-OS shell
Draggable windows, traffic-light controls, a dock with live badges, system notifications, and a boot screen. It boots like an OS because it thinks it is one.
Disguise mode
One keystroke flips everything to "Quarterly Pipeline — Internal." Neutral CRM, plausible numbers, tab title changes too. Hit it again — your empire's right where you left it.
Spike events
An "anomaly" surfaces; cash in for a temporary x7 income surge or a windfall. The only variable-ratio thrill in here — strictly in-game, never tied to real money.
Four themes
Daylight (blends in at the office), Midnight, Terminal (phosphor green, for the CLI lifers), and Lyx — the house brand. Your dashboard, your vibe.
Offline progress
Your agency runs while the tab's closed. Come back richer. 40% rate, capped at 8 hours — both upgradable. "While you were away" is always a gift, never a rescue.
Ethical by design
Number-go-up that respects you. No loot boxes. No pay-to-win. No predatory timers. No FOMO. No streaks. Free, forever. The boring way, done right.
Responsive & iOS-ready
Desktop windowing collapses to a clean bottom-tab dashboard on mobile. PWA manifest included. Built to wrap as an iOS app via Capacitor. Runs everywhere.
Exit & Equity
Prestige mechanic done right. Convert lifetime revenue into Equity (◈) — each point adds +2% income globally and carries across every company you start next. The number that doesn't reset.
Built by the people
who build the boring layer.
Lyx makes developer infrastructure for a world of many models — the layer below your AI tools. The boring layer that matters. Reliability is a feature.
Compound is what happened when we let the dashboard ship itself. A one-person AI agency is already an incremental game — counters ticking up, tools to unlock, revenue to compound. We just made it official.
The agency in the game? Close enough to real. The studio? Definitely real.
See what else Lyx builds →MCP Verdict
The neutral registry for MCP servers. Each one installed, run, and graded on what it actually does. A public method and a straight verdict.
Lyx Exocortex
A portable, user-owned memory layer. Connect your sources once and any AI can query them through a single MCP endpoint.
Compound
The idle game that looks like a day job. You're already here. The rest is just revenue compounding.
Every update ships something
worth writing home about.
Compound grows through focused releases — each one deepens the strategy without adding noise.
Your first AI empire now becomes an Origin Company, opening six finite futures that turn Compound's endgame into a strategic founder simulation.
- Six Venture Worlds — build Agency, SaaS, Media, Products, Acquisitions and Research companies, each with its own economy, capability graph and three-act story.
- Decisions become history — Company DNA, explicit Board choices and institutional protocols make every company play differently and preserve what it learned.
- Real mastery runs — Founder Trials are now isolated challenge companies with enforced rules, active-time clocks and deterministic replays instead of passive milestones.
- A living operating room — Mission Control shows demand flowing through Build, Deliver, Control and Compound, while the final Board and New Game+ give the journey a true long-form endgame.
A full review pass over the last six updates: exploits closed, dishonest wording corrected, and the install statistics made stricter about privacy.
- Exploits closed — generated Exit and specialization goals can no longer pay out retroactively for progress you already had; nothing already earned is taken away.
- Honest words — Boardroom perks say what actually survives, Upgrades say they last until your next Exit, and contracts no longer pretend they can be late.
- Stricter privacy — the anonymous install statistics now use their own random id, kept apart from your account and purchases.
v3.5 The Mentor
Every system now introduces itself: the moment something new appears, one guided step shows you what it is and why it matters.
- Learn by doing — each unlocked system arrives with exactly one short task that asks for one real interaction: build a Heat chain, read the market, sign a contract, buy a perk, accept a proposal.
- Right on time — these tasks appear precisely when their system reveals, never before, so the To-Do always points at something that exists.
- In both languages — every new task ships in English and German from day one.
v3.4 Clean Signals
The slot-machine anomaly is gone, and Compound now counts a handful of anonymous first-session statistics.
- Mystery signals removed — they were a jackpot roll dressed up as a metric spike, demanding attention without offering a decision. Surge and Windfall spikes stay, with their fixed, honest rewards.
- Anonymous install statistics — a few first-session milestones tied to a random install id, so we can see whether new founders find their footing. No personal data, no cookies, no third parties.
v3.3 Guided Momentum
Every goal now shows honest progress, the To-Do focuses on one thing at a time, and the whole game feels better in your hands.
- Honest progress everywhere — all campaign goals show a real progress bar, and generated specialization and Exit goals can now actually be completed.
- A focused To-Do — one active goal up front with a collapsible plan behind it, instead of five competing cards.
- A real unlock preview — Mission Control shows what is coming next, and no longer greets a brand-new company with an empty recap.
- Smoother in the hand — native mouse, touch, keyboard and assistive-tech input, cleaner mobile dock, and short pauses no longer cost you income.
v3.2.1 Windows that fit
Narrow windows behave again: apps reflow to the window they live in instead of overlapping.
- Window-aware layouts — Mission Control, Sprints, Automation and the Venture Map now respond to each window's own width, so a slim window gets one clean readable column.
- Graceful scaling — the cash readout, headline and sparkline size down smoothly in small windows.
v3.2 The Lean Home
Mission Control is now a calm decision surface: your money, your Ship button, your next goal — nothing else shouting for attention.
- A decision surface, not a report — the Overview shows only cash and income, the Ship button, your next goal, and the Exit card when it matters.
- Reports moved into tabs — Market, Runbook, Sprint and a new Portfolio view are one tap away instead of stacked on the home screen.
- Quieter chrome — prestige currencies became a compact chip row, and the weekly-modifier strip waits until your first Exit.
- Nothing lost — every detail still exists, exactly one tap deeper.
v3.1 Clarity
A calmer, clearer Compound: a quiet start, systems that arrive one at a time, and one name for every concept.
- A calm opening — the early game stays quiet much longer, tier-up popups stop shouting, and the first market spike waits twenty minutes instead of eight.
- Earn your dock — a new company starts with just Mission Control, the Stack and the To-Do list. Every other app appears exactly when it has something for you.
- One thing at a time — no moment reveals more than one system anymore. Your first Exit opens only the Boardroom; the rest of the late game follows across later Exits.
- One vocabulary — Upgrades, Profile, Runbook and Objectives are now the single names for their systems, in English and German alike.
v3.0 The Consolidation
Compound is now a leaner, clearer final product: one home screen, honest late-game systems, cleaner multiplayer, stronger accessibility, and a full campaign arc.
- One focused operating room. Mission Control is now the first screen and pulls the core loop, goals, revenue, market state, Runbooks, Sprints, and post-game decisions into one place.
- Systems now tell the truth. Venture effects, Sprint scoring, multiplayer status, leaderboard rewards, and the Singularity ending now match what the game actually does.
- Cleaner, safer, more complete. The campaign runs through IPO, Fund, Singularity, and beyond, German story text is expanded, themes meet stronger contrast standards, and existing saves keep loading without a reset.
v2.0 The Living Operating System
Compound opens into Mission Control now: a denser AI-business OS with new strategy, sprint, and runbook layers.
- Mission Control becomes the first screen. The old Dashboard stays available as Analytics, while the new home view pulls goals, market movement, runbook activity, sprint focus, and portfolio state together.
- New v2 systems. Runbook Studio, Venture Map, OKR Sprints, Founder Cards, and the visual relaunch layer expand the game without wiping existing saves.
- Fair progression preserved. Existing saves migrate in place, paid cosmetics stay cosmetic-only, and there is no missed-day punishment or streak loss.
v1.83 Post-Singularity reputation fix
After a Singularity, IPOs can rebuild reputation again instead of leaving the loop stranded.
- Reputation rebuilds again. Folding into a Singularity no longer blocks future IPO reputation gains.
- Permanent progress stays safe. Insight, lifetime records, and the Fund chain remain protected from free re-mining.
- No save reset. This is a targeted logic fix, not a schema or progression wipe.
v1.82 Leaderboard season titles
Your best leaderboard finish in a season can now become a permanent prestige title.
- Season titles added. Finish as Champion, on the Podium, or in the Top Ten to earn a lasting title.
- Visible in Leaderboards. Earned titles appear in the Founders League so your best seasons stay on record.
- Prestige only. Titles do not affect income, progression, or leaderboard fairness.
v1.81 Faster and uncapped leaderboards
Scores update more quickly, and the very top of the board is no longer clipped at 1.00Dc.
- Faster score posts. Your standing now propagates in about ten seconds instead of feeling stuck for half a minute.
- Higher score ceiling. Leaderboard values can climb beyond the old 1.00Dc cap.
- Same fair scoring. The change affects update speed and display range, not the way ranks are earned.
v1.80 Theme fairness fix
Your currently applied theme is always selectable again, even if it is a premium theme you no longer actively hold.
- Current theme stays reachable. If you switch away from the theme you are using, you can still switch back to it.
- Fair for old saves. Imported or older saves that already had a premium theme applied keep access to that one applied theme.
- No free unlock spillover. Other premium themes remain locked unless you own them.
v1.79 Your story, in one place
The Annals and the Memoir now live together in a focused Chronicle app.
- Chronicle added. The Annals and Memoir sit side by side in one two-tab story home.
- Cleaner Company app. Company now focuses on your profile, the changelog, and settings.
- Same story systems. The narrative engines are unchanged, just easier to find.
